On hearing the name of Tava Pulao, water starts pouring in the mouth, it is a street food of Mumbai, it is very tasty and is also liked very much, it can be made very easily at home too.

  • Tomato = 400 grams finely chopped
  • Potatoes = 300 grams boiled
  • Capsicum = one finely chopped
  • Peas = One Cup
  • Butter = 2 to 3 tablespoons
  • Green coriander = two to three tablespoons finely chopped
  • Ginger paste = a small spoon
  • Green chili = finely chopped
  • PC red chili = 1/4 tsp
  • Pav bhaji masala = two teaspoons
  • Salt = as per taste

How To Make Pulao

To make Tawa Pulao, heat a fry pan, add two to three tablespoons of butter in the pan and let it melt when the butter melts, now add ginger paste, turmeric powder, and finely chopped green chillies and fry the spices for two minutes. Then after frying the masala, add finely chopped tomatoes and cover the tomatoes and cook for two to three minutes. Until the boiled potatoes are peeled and cut into small pieces.

Now check the tomatoes whether the tomatoes are cooked or not or if the tomatoes have melted, then mash the tomatoes a little bit.

Now add capsicum and peas, mix it very well and cover the vegetable and cook for two minutes so that capsicum and peas become soft and ready.

Now check the vegetable, that the peas are ready to soften, mash the vegetables lightly, add red chili, salt and a little bit of green coriander and pav bhaji masala and mix it well by mashing everything together.

Now add ½ cup of water to the vegetable and mix it and mash the vegetable a little more, now add potatoes and mash it while adding it.

The vegetable is ready, now add rice to it and stir well. Cook the vegetables and rice till they get very good. Tava casserole is ready, take it out in a plate.

Garnish the delicious Tawa Pulao with green coriander and serve it with curd or raita and eat it.
